The Bane of Earwigs and Centipedes Alike

We used to have a strawberry bed in the side yard. But this year it got infested with white flies. So, a couple days ago, my dad decided to take it out.

The chickens had much fun gobbling up nasty, long-legged centipedes and spike-tailed earwigs, as well as quite a few unfortunate worms. I, on the other hand, had much fun watching -- and taking pictures of -- the chickens eating said invertebrates. So, without further ado, I shall spam you all with photos.

Seems the whole flock figured out what was up!

This one's a little harder to see the worm in. I tell you, though, she really is eating a worm

Well, that's about all on the gardening front. We've been getting more and more raspberries and less and less strawberries, and that's about it. Soon we'll plow under our two other oldest beds and let the chickens have a go at them, too. Writing-wise, I'm a bit stuck, again. *sigh* I have a bunch of ideas but no drive to write anything, and I'm behind on TOSoS as well. Hopefully I can write a chapter of that tonight just to get it off my mind, and then work on other stories and ideas. I'm kind of half thinking about writing a book about chickens -- and I still don't know how I'm going to pull off the horse book.

Oh, and happy (late) 4th of July, everyone!
